  • Founder of Faith Communities in Action, established in 1995, a Fairfax countywide network of faith communities that enables faith communities to better identify and respond to the needs of the community, in partnership with nonprofit organizations and local government. 
  • Founded and coordinated Fairfax Corner in Moscow, 1992 – 2001, a program which provided training and networking opportunities for Russian government officials and business leaders who stayed with Fairfax County host families 
  • Initiated Fairfax County-George Mason University Committee to explore the creation of a Fairfax County History Museum, 2007;  
  • Sponsored and managed a Fairfax County Asian-American History Project, 2008 - 2010 

Braddock District Activities and Initiatives: 

  • Initiated Braddock Nights Summer Concert Series in Braddock District Parks, 1995-present; 
  • Initiated George Mason University-Braddock District Forum (to discuss university-community related issues) 2007; 
  • Mrs. Bulova regularly engages her Braddock constituents in Community Dialog Series and Task Forces. Some of these efforts include:  
  • Braddock 2000 - The Miniseries (Projecting and Planning for a Strong Community as It Enters a New Century);  
  • Dying in America - End of Life Issues;  
  • Community Challenges (Parking and Overcrowding);
  • Community Dialog on Transportation and Land Use, 2003;  
  • Danbury Forest Enhancement (Revitalization) Project, Phase I - 2001, Phase II 2008 
  • The Burke Centre VRE Station Parking Garage Community Task Force, 2002 
  • Preventing Gang Activity, 2003 - 2004 
  • Braddock Tomorrow (a community visioning series in 2006) 
  • Keeping our Neighborhoods Safe, Attractive and Vital, and The Kings Park (Revitalization) Initiative, (2007-present);  
  • A Look Back at Braddock history project to research, gather and tell the history of the Braddock District as it transitioned from a rural farm community into our present day neighborhoods,  2005 – present.  This effort culminated in the publishing of the book Braddock’s True Gold. The focus on history continues with the development of a History Web site in partnership with George Mason University.
